I have unhealthy perfectly normal obsession with houseplants, flowers, vegetable gardens…. anything that grows really. And even though I’ve managed to keep my herb box alive and my garden going (it’s touch and go sometimes), I can’t tell you how many house plants have died on me.
I’ve killed countless succulents and air plants. They lied when they said they were easy.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve read countless blog posts with titles like Black Thumb Safe Houseplants, etc, etc. And I’ve bought all those plants and they died.
Side note: Did you know that houseplants filter the air? They’re a great way to add a pop of color and detox your home.
Here are the two plants I’ve kept alive for AGES.
Number One: The Arrow Head Vine
I have no idea why it’s called a “vine”. It just camps out in its’ little pot and doesn’t die. I only water it when the soil is dry (about every 2 weeks) and it stays out of direct sunlight on my bookshelf.
Number Two: Heart Leaf Philodendron
I’ve kept this baby alive for almost a year now. She’s quadrupled in size since I repotted her. Again, I only water this one when the soil is dry. This plant is a little more flexible when it comes to lighting conditions. The heart leaf is also in on my bookshelf, but where the sun can hit her a little in the morning.
Do you have any houseplants that are impossible to kill?
