Happy Friday, folks! It’s been a long week, but a good one filled with kitty snuggles and a good amount of movies & TV shows filmed in Italy. Kimo and I are “preparing” for our trip in the Fall. Aside from that here are five things I’m currently loving.

  1. Date Rolls & Chai Rooibos Tea
I haven’t been enjoying chocolate very much the past couple of months. I’ve been pretty sad about my dark chocolate fix not working. However, my sister introduced me to coconut date rolls a few years ago. I completely forgot about them until I saw them next to the sliced fruit at Whole Foods. I scooped up a container on a whim and I’ve been enjoying a couple nearly every day with a cup of Rooibos Chai (Davidson’s is my favorite). Not only do I enjoy them immensely, my “chocolate” craving goes away and I feel 110% satisfied.
  2. Journaling
After reading a summary of the study that proved how journaling strengthens immune systems, improve stress management and decreases doctors visits, I decided to take up journaling daily. I stumbled upon the It’s Gonna Be Okay journal at Target (it’s $6 cheaper on Amazon) and scooped it up. I’ve been inspired by the daily quotes and the “prevailing outlook” forecast at the end of each entry. It’s designed as a 1-page a day journal, which makes it less intimidating to take on this new this new habit. There are approximately 70 pages; I figure by the time I’ve finished this journal it’ll be a no-brainer to pick up a new one.
  3. Hotel Collection Sheets
I appreciate a good bit of marketing as that is where my background lies. I was sadly swayed by Parachute’s gorgeous website & photos. Long story short, we spent over $300 on CalKing sheets and after following their stringent instructions our sheets became discolored & developed holes. After writing them and sending photos they told me they wouldn’t refund me because the holes were my fault and gave me a 10% off coupon. Nope. Sorry peeps. I immediately ran to Macy’s and ordered white Hotel Collection sheets and every night we crawl into bed, sighing with bliss.
  4. Psychic Eye Mysteries by Victoria Laurie
Janet Evanovich is one of my favorite authors. All of her books are laugh out loud funny with relatable heroines. On a whim, I Googled “authors similar to Janet Evanovich” and discovered a huge list of authors. I’m on book 3 of the Psychic Eye series. (I started them two weeks ago) I’ve been listening on Audible every chance I get. Abby, the psychic, is a tad immature at times, but the shenanigans she gets into are so entertaining.
  5. 7 Ingredient Curry
I love to cook. I nearly went to culinary school in lieu of a traditional 4-year university. Anyhoo – I realized as yummy as my dinners turn out, I make a lot of things too complicated. It’s completely fine and delicious to make a 7 ingredient crockpot curry. I made a delicious sweet potato & chickpea curry as a vegan main dish for a party we recently hosted – only to receive rave reviews. You have no idea how hard it was to stop with just the chickpeas & sweet potatoes. I’ll be sharing the recipe next week!

Happy Weekend,
LOV
